Laurel Zucker

Laurel ZuckerBorn in New York City in 1955, flutist and composer Laurel Zucker received her BM degree from Juilliard and an MA in Music Composition from New York University. In 1988 Zucker became a Professor of Music at California State University in Sacramento, and since that time has garnered multiple awards and honors, including two Creative Research Awards, a Professional Promise Award and several UEI (University Enterprises, Inc.) travel grants.

Zucker’s music is performed frequently in the USA and Europe. Her compositions are published by Cayambis Music Press, Jabiru Publications, Alry Music, Lyra International, Subito Music and Bourne Music Company. Professor Zucker’s compositions are featured regularly on NPR Radio, Pandora Radio, Spotify, iTunes, YouTube and on a variety of European radio stations. Since 2006 her travels throughout Central and South America have inspired her to compose an extensive variety of chamber music compositions in both classical and jazz styles.
