We encourage public performances of our music and are always pleased to receive notices and/or printed programs regarding any of the compositions that we publish. However, the unauthorized use of copyrighted material, and especially for commercial or profitable activities, is not only wrong, it’s against the law.

Therefore, if you would like to use our copyrighted music as part of your creative work, perhaps as an illustration in a book or journal article, or in a recorded medium (audio recording, film or video), as part of a dance or theatrical production, please follow the procedures below:

For use in a scholarly work (books or journals), you must obtain written permission from Cayambis Music Press. In your letter or email to us, please be as specific as possible about your intended use of our material.

For rented materials (orchestral scores and parts), you must obtain a performance license from either ASCAP or BMI (depending on the specific title).

Audio recordings. If you plan on recording music from our catalog onto a CD or for digital download, you must first obtain a mechanical license from Cayambis Music Press.

Visual recordings. If you plan on using our material in conjunction with visual images, such as on television, in a movie, on a DVD or for live streaming, you must first obtain a synchronization license from Cayambis Music Press.

For any other use not specified here, in your letter or email to us please be as specific as possible about your intended use of our material.
