There are those who have few choices, and all of them are hard. Every day, people risk their lives seeking safety, looking for a better future for their family, their kids. Sometimes they make it, sometimes they don’t. They take on uncertain journeys, risking too much, full of hope that they will find empathy at the end of the road… and that they will be able to rebuild their lives. But sometimes their hope shatters, they find walls, they find their families separated, do they even have a future? ... They go through enormous hardship, distrust, fear, frustration, resignation… This piece attempts to express all those harrowing emotions, in the voice of the oboe.
