This collection consists of five pieces for piano by Julián Aguirre (Argentina), Ricardo Castro (Mexico), Bruno Goyeneche (Uruguay), Alberto Nepomuceno (Brazil) and Henrique Oswald (Brazil). Composed between about 1900 and 1910 these works are typical of the period and are meant to be suggestive of moods, images or events. These pieces are equally appropriate as recital pieces or as didactic works, especially for their value in helping to teach rhythm.
