Pulsos, for Bb clarinet, was written in 2018 by commission of clarinetist Alexis Fong. The piece won the first prize of the Roque Cordero National Competition the same year, receiving its premiere in 2019 at the National Theater of Panama. In Pulsos, Carlos Camacho seeks to create the illusion of having two performers playing simultaneously, while melodies are accompanied by pulses inferring different tempi on each voice.
