CMP 1117
Wind quintet for flute, oboe, clarinet, horn and bassoon.
Grade 6. Approx. duration: twenty-three minutes.
Set includes a score and five parts.
The traveling arrangement of this ensemble piece proposes a game of acoustic and perceptive interpretation in which the audience is the focal point and functions as an absolute point of reference. For this reason, in many of the work’s passages the instrumentalists will be located not only behind members of the public but actually with their backs facing towards them. The spatial aspect of this work requires a performing space of approximately 3000 square feet in which the quintet members are able to freely move about from one performance location to another. Amplification is not recommended, but if used, should be installed in each of the nine performance locations specified in the instructions that accompany the piece.
