This high energy work, approximately eleven minutes long, features a freely tonal approach with abundant chromaticism. Nevertheless, there are a number of briefly tender moments built around melodies that are clearly vocally conceived. Although when it comes to rhythms, pitches and articulations Santaella wields a highly precise pen, at the same time he has left many elements to the discretion of the performers, which makes this a work that lends itself to many possible interpretations.
