Miguel del Aguila

Miguel del Aguila Three-time Grammy nominated American composer, Miguel del Aguila’s prolific music output and distinctive musical style has placed him among the most highly regarded composers of his generation. Worldwide performances or broadcasts of his works take place virtually every week of the year. His catalogue of over a hundred works has been performed by over 60 orchestras, and hundreds of first rate ensembles and soloists. His works are available in 30 CDs and published by Peermusic.
Currently Aguila’s catalogue reaches 112 works for all genres, most published by Peermusic Classical and available on Naxos, Bridge, Dorian, Telarc, New Albion, Albany, Eroica, and other labels. Recently Aguila received two Grammy nominations for his CD “Salon Buenos Aires” and for his work, “Clocks.”

Charles Nichols

Photo of Charles NicholsComposer, violinist and computer music researcher, Charles Nichols, is an Assistant Professor of Composition and Music Technology and works with the Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology (ICAT).
His compositions, including acoustic and electroacoustic music, for large and chamber ensembles, and fixed media, accompanying dance and animation, have been presented at conferences and festivals. His research has included telematic musical performance over Internet2, haptic musical human-computer interface design, and wavelet audio analysis and resynthesis.


Carlos Sánchez-Gutiérrez

Carlos Sánchez-GutiérrezThe music of Carlos Sanchez-Gutierrez has been described by the press as “vigorously organized and highly visceral…neither eclectic nor post-modern nor owing allegiance to any passing fashion.”
Born in Mexico City in 1964, he studied at the Peabody Conservatory, Yale University, Princeton and Tanglewood under Henri Dutilleux, Jacob Druckman, and Martin Bresnick. He is Professor of Composition at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York.
Sanchez-Gutierrez’s work is performed and recorded frequently in the U.S, Latin America, Europe and Asia. Recently Sanchez-Gutierrez has been Composer-in-Residence at several international festivals: Puentes Mexico/España, Chihuahua International Festival, Michoacan International New Music Festival, S.L.A.M. Festival in Seattle, as well as with the Binghamton Philharmonic (through a grant from the New York State Fund for Music.)
