Andrés Levell Venezuelan composer and writer Andrés Levell was born in Caracas in 1983. At the age of eleven he began studying music on his own but later studied piano and composition from several professors. Although Levell has written music for various orchestral and instrumental formats while at the same time dedicating himself to improvisation as a form of spontaneous composition. His works have been played by distinguished soloists, directors, orchestras and chamber groups both at the national as well as the international level. He has received numerous prizes and awards, and as a writer is the author of the book, “Apuntes sobre la decapitación y otros textos.” His interest in creating a synthesis amongst the various arts has led him to explore distinct expressive forms beyond just music to arrive at a multidisciplinary connection with artists within dance, theater, poetry, cinema and plastic arts.
